September Adopt-a-Beach: Site Captain News

Thank you for playing a lead role in the September Adopt-a-Beach event! Without your help this event would not be possible.

As captain, your responsibility is to hand out supplies on the day of the event, recruit and mobilize volunteers who are assigned to your beach, and to be sure that the event and the data that results from it are complete and well organized. Also, please promote the event in your neighborhood by distributing flyers and displaying posters in the windows of local businesses.

• Sample letter and a copy of our income tax-exempt status (Section 501 c3). Use the letter to approach local business owners for donations of food and beverages for volunteers on your beach. After receiving the donation, send your state coordinator the names and addresses of the contributors, and we will send a thank you letter from the Alliance for the Great Lakes.
